We have quite a few 24 hour turn around charters. What goes into getting ready....
We contact our taxi driver (Mahmoud) to pick up guests I have already put together the preference sheet our guests send us.
When our guests depart at 11 am we immediately refuel and fill up the water tanks. We rent a car and head out to do the errands. First thing is to drop off the laundry so we can get it back asap to change the beds. We get propane, Do the food shopping in several stores and then pick up other items such as boat supplies, etc. I like to do my own shopping!
We put it all in the dinghy (loaded down, lol) Now the hard part begins. I put all the groceries away (kind of like putting a puzzle together where everything must go on a boat) Start cleaning. It takes 2 plus hours each to clean the outside of the boat and inside. Run over to laundry to pick it up and also take trash to dumpster. Now make the beds (WORST JOB) Chris goes in the bathrooms with a face mask and thoroughly cleans the bathrooms and sterilizes them We have tried several times to get cleaners on the boat to help but NONE of them do it like it should be on the inside. We go out to eat and go to bed early.
The day of the charter there is always a lot to do. I send the photo's that I have taken for the last charter to our guests, see if they made it home safely. Start prepping food for the charter. clean the windows, polish the bathrooms and all the stainless steel. vacuum, wash the floors. We try hard to give us an hour or two before guests arrive but that is hardly the case, with a turn around we usually are busy right up until we dock. We get uniforms, do a high five for a wonderful charter and greet our guests at Village Cay.
We really get as excited as our guests when we meet you. Everyone is happy and ready to have a great time. Best job ever!
